What can I capture?

Text visible on your screen and text in image files. You can capture one area or use multi-area capture for separate pieces. Results should be reviewed before use.

Which Macs are supported?

TextSnag requires macOS 14 or later. Table recognition and its grid workflow require macOS 26 or later.

Does TextSnag use cloud services?

Core text recognition runs on your Mac. Optional AI text and image features use a cloud provider you configure with your own API key. Those features can send content to that provider. Configured After Copying actions can also send copied text to a Shortcut or URL.

How does the trial work?

The planned Mac App Store version includes a free 24-hour trial, followed by a US $9.99 one-time TextSnag 1 unlock. Direct purchase does not include a free trial.
